I’ve been a Netflix subscriber since its early days of DVD mailing service.
Later on when it started the streaming offering I happily started watching everything it had to offer.
These were great times. As I rewatched The Office, Battlestar Galactica, discovered The IT Crowd, and bunch of movies new and old.
Later on when Netflix started its Original content, I enjoyed the great stuffs such as House of Cards, Stranger Things, OA, Black Mirror, Master of None, “Love, Death & Robots”, Ozark… Original Movies like “Always be My Maybe”, “Eurovision: The Story of Fire Saga”, my kids also enjoyed “Last Airbender”, “Legend of Kora”, “Carmen Sandiego”, and “Hello Ninja” 😉
It’s been great, but at the same time a couple things been coming between us:
- lifestyle change: with familiy, and my wanting to do more gaming, reading, and arts. I found myself turning on Netflix less and less
- competition: there are so many great competitions with great content now. Hulu serves most of my most needs (oh, and if you haven’t seen Castle Rock series, go watch it now), Tubi/Crunchyroll works fine for anime, Disney+ got almost everything kids need.
- $$$: yes, you’ve been raising prices more and more frequently. and I failed to see how that matches the speed you are churning out quality content. Sorry. Maybe I just don’t have the time to sit down and go through those anymore.
So long, and good luck, Netflix. I’m sure I will miss you from time to time (maybe when the next Ozark season comes out) but I will be strong and move on without you. For a while.
